Tetouan to Celebrate World Poetry Day

Casablanca, March 21, 2013

On the occasion of World Poetry Day, the Tetouan branch of the Moroccan Writers Union organizes events in celebration of this prestigious literary genre from today, March 21 to March 28, reported daily Almassaa.

The events are organized in coordination with the delegation of the Ministry of National Education in Tetouan, the regional center for revitalization, educational documentation and production in the Tangier-Tetouan region, with the sponsorship of the mandate of Tetouan and the delegation of the ministry of culture in the city.

Six high schools in Tetouan are expected to host poets in meetings for open dialogues on writing poetry in general and on their personal experiences in particular.

The celebrations will be launched with a poetic evening hosted by Dar Takafa on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

In the same evening, students are going to be awarded for their creative poetry.

The poets taking part in this celebration are Muhammad Al Maimoun, Suad Nasir, Mohammed Chaikhi, Ayashi Abu Chitaa, Fatima Zahra Bennis, Imane Khatabi, Radwan Aissatin, Mohsen Akhrif, Asaad Bazi, Moatamad Kharraz, Nihad Mouden, Zaitoun Mohammed.
