Rabat – Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have announced that the holy month of Ramadan will complete 30 days and Eid El Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday July 6.

Saudi and Qataris authorities said earlier on Monday that the committees in charge of sighting the moon of the month of the Shawwal were unable to sight the crescent. Therefore, the first day of Eid El Fitr is Wednesday.

The announcement made by the Saudi and Qatari authorities confirms the astronomical calculations made by the International Astronomical Center.

In a press release made public on its website, the IAC said that the sighting of the moon would be impossible on Monday in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as Asia.

“It is impossible to see the crescent from the areas located under the red color. Because either the Moon on this day sets before the Sunset and/or the topocentric conjunction occurs after the Sunset,” the International Astronomical Center said on its official website.
