Inauguration in Hawaii of commemorative stone dedicated to King Mohammed VI

The official inauguration ceremony of a commemorative stone dedicated to King Mohammed VI took place Friday in Honolulu, as part of  Mohammed VI’s Week in Hawaii, which runs from November 28 to December 2.

The plaque of the stone, built in the “Millennium Peace Garden” in the city of Honolulu, was unveiled in the presence of Deputy Governor of the State of Hawaii, Brian Schartz, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Ouzzine, Coordinator of Mohammed VI Week in Hawaii, Driss Guerraoui, and other Moroccan and US officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Governor of the State of Hawaii stressed the importance of this event which symbolizes the special relationship between Morocco and the United States since 1777, noting that the peoples of the two countries share a commitment to the values of peace and friendship.

The Week of King Mohammed VI in Hawaii was also marked by the inauguration,Thursday at the “Hawaii State Art Museum,” of a Fountain offered by the Kingdom of Morocco to the people of the state of Hawaii, the signing of a twinning agreement between Hawaii and the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer region as well as five MoUs in the field of business, tourism, academic research, and water sports.
